Mario Party for the Nintendo 64(1999) is the first entry in the long-running party game franchise, designed as a digital "board game" where players compete to become the ultimate "Super Star".
Core Gameplay & Objective
· Star Hunting: Up to four players choose from six characters—Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong—to move across themed boards by rolling dice. The primary goal is to collect more Stars than anyone else by the end of the game.
· Mini-Games: After every player has taken a turn, a mini-game begins. There are over 50 mini-games ranging from 4-player free-for-alls to 1-vs-3 and 2-vs-2 challenges. Winning these games awards players Coins, which are used to buy Stars from Toad or activate board events.
· Themed Boards: The game features 6 initial adventure boards, each themed after a specific character (e.g., Donkey Kong’s Jungle Adventure), plus two unlockable maps.

· Mini-Game Island: A single-player mode where you must complete a linear path of mini-games without losing all your lives.

· Mushroom Shop & Bank: Players can spend coins earned in boards to unlock items and new mini-games for free-play.
